Good Words 1Tim. 1

In my reading tonight I am starting in the two books that Paul wrote to Timothy. In reading chapter one of First Timothy verse 18 came out and caught me. It says “This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare” The first pastor I can ever remember hearing speak is Rev. Claude Harrelson. He has told me and my family from since I can remember that the Lord has a great work for me. I did not believe him for a long time because I thought that I would take after my father and be a farmer, but the Lord had other plans. I now use his words as encouragement. I believe that the Lord will provide us with insight on how we need to respond to every situation and I believe that Rev. Harrelson yielded to the Holy Spirit in that and every time I remember hearing him speak. To go along with that I have seen first hand how sometimes it is not wise to say anything when dealing with a situation. I had someone call me this weekend and I had no idea of how to handle it. I waited and waited for a word from the Lord but it never came. So all I knew was to pray. So I prayed with the individuals and all the way home I turned the radio off and just prayed about the whole thing. Wow I didn’t expect this to take this turn. Well that is how the Lord works.
